Identify consumers with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who desire to participate in meaningful community based employment opportunities through the United Needs and Abilities Supported Employment Program.

Develop relationships with employers who are willing to partner with United Needs & Abilities Supported Employment Program to hire consumers with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
3.
Match Consumers who are seeking employment opportunities with employers for meaningful and continual employment opportunities for community based competitive employment.
4.
Assist consumers with developing and refining job skills and removing barriers for successful and meaningful competitive community based employment opportunities.
5.
Support consumers in achieving greater independence with continual competitive community based employment beyond the Supported Employment Program with UNA.
Position Status:
Full-time The Employment Specialist/Job Coach is assigned over a period of time defined by each individual's program and dependent upon the level of supports needed for a given community work environment and schedule of a given consumer.
Work Schedule:
Core hours will vary according to the needs of each consumer.
Flexibility in schedule is a must in order to accommodate employer, employee, training needs and completion of documentation required for Supported Employment Program with UNA.
Essential Job Functions:
1.
Support and communicate UNA's Mission, Vision and Core Values while empowering consumers to achieve greater independence in their employment decisions.
2.
Participate as an active team member in the development, implementation and reporting on progress for the consumer's Individual Supported Employment Plan.
3.
Identify and provide enhancement skills for meaningful and successful employment opportunities available to consumer as needed.
4.
Maintain working relationship with funding agencies and referral sources for consumers who wish to participate in this employment program through UNA.
5.
Provide appropriate level of supports as defined by formal and informal assessments while giving assistance as outlined in the implementation strategies of the individual plan for meaningful community based competitive employment opportunities.
6.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with employers who support our program while outreaching to other who may have an interest in the Supported Employment Program with UNA.
7.
Support consumer in job readiness training to remove barriers and resolve issues for upward mobility and advancement opportunities with the employer.
8.
Provide support in directing consumer to obtain assistance with benefits counseling to enhance the benefits from the employer and reporting of wages and earnings with the Social Security Administration and participation in their programs.
9.
Complete tracking and monitoring reports according to regulations and agency deadlines.
10.
Maintain a flexible schedule to assist with direct and indirect support and supervision when called upon to do so during the consumer's hours of scheduled employment.
Position Requirements:
Degree in Human Services or related field preferred or experience Experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities a must Complete all agency and DDA trainings before working with a consumer Maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid Maintain valid Driver's License with good driving record and show proof of Auto Insurance Coverage Pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Test Other Competencies:
Ability to establish and maintain professionalism with a cooperative relationship with those with whom you work.
Interest in assisting people supported in the UNA Supported Employment Program to achieve personal vocational outcomes of their choice and to provide them with Person-Centered Supports.
Effectively send and receive verbal and written communication (including narrative report writing) using the English language; basic math skills and basic computer skills.
Show willingness and ability to successfully complete and apply trainings in your position.
Demonstrate your ability to be an effective team member always looking for what is best for the consumer according to their individual choice.
Demonstrate the ability to capture progress and keep documentation current for program reviews.
Be of good moral character and show a willingness to support ongoing character building in those you support.
