Horizons builds long term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.
The heart of the Horizons is our Summer Learning Program, which is an exemplary academic program that supports a cohort of students in reading, writing, math, and science, paired with swimming lessons, field trips, sports, and enrichment activities in the performing and visual arts.
The program launched in the summer of 2003 with one class of 12 Kindergarten students, and one grade (15 students) added each summer until the program included K-8th grade.
The primary goal of Horizons is to reverse the trend of summer learning loss that adversely impacts the long-term success of low-income students.

About the Position This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a seasoned, dynamic nonprofit professional who is passionate about building the capacity of students, families, and communities and creating opportunities for students to develop the academic and social emotional skills that will enable them to thrive.
The Executive Director manages and leads a diverse staff overseeing all program activities and operations, including ensuring quality programming, hiring and supervising staff and volunteers; annual budget planning and management; and broadening Horizons' base of support through fundraising and marketing initiatives.
This role also serves as the face of Horizons Delmarva, working to build external-facing relationships to increase awareness of the program, expand partnerships, and position Horizons as a thought leader in the out-of-school time space.
Horizons Delmarva offers a strong community of support from committed families, and a collaborative board in partnership with host school members, local community stakeholders and partner school representatives.
As part of the national network, Horizons Delmarva's Executive Director has access to professional development opportunities, peer-to-peer learning and collaboration, and programmatic and strategic guidance from Horizons National, the hub of the Horizons Network.
Essential Job Functions The Executive Director will:
Development and Marketing Collaborate with the Board on fundraising strategy, including cultivation of new funding sources, and provide support for fundraising events Ensure effective gift recording and acknowledgement (donor database training available) Serve as the face of Horizons, stewarding relationships with donors and participating in networking and speaking opportunities to raise awareness of Horizons Organizational Leadership Provide leadership and tactical implementation for organizational strategy, fundraising, financial management, programmatic growth and quality, infrastructure, and board development for an expanding non-profit Manage the overall budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting of the agency Partner with the Board, providing leadership and support to members and committees, including the development of meeting materials and presentations Execute formal agreements and serve as a liaison between Horizons Delmarva, program host institutions, and Horizons National Represent Horizons Delmarva at relevant field events, including the annual Horizons National Conference and local educational and non-profit events Program Leadership Work with the Horizons Delmarva Board and Horizons National to identify and cultivate institutional partners and launch new programs at schools and/or other institutions Create and maintain a supportive regional Horizons community Work with host schools and sites to provide annual feedback for site directors and program operations Qualifications and Skills In addition to a strong commitment to Horizons' mission, this position requires a balance of knowledge of best practices and practical experience with a proficiency in computer skills and time management.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
